Clover Cottage Reopened its Doors

Clover Cottage is in the heart of Berwick, Victoria, and its story dates back to the late 1800s. It began as a timber residence surrounded by open land. This cottage is recognised as an important part of Berwick’s heritage and represents the area’s early rural character.

In the 1950s, landscape consultant John Stevens and Frederick Tuckfield developed an impressive collection of flowers up to the 1970s. Many of these gardens and plants remain an important part of the heritage today.

This became known to generations of locals as Clover Cottage Restaurant. From the late 1970s until the end of 2016.

After several years away, it now reopened its doors in 2026.

Jack and I celebrated our 37th Wedding Anniversary in the outside seating area.

After lunch we walked around the estate and saw this covered area with stained-glass windows.

This, if I remember correctly, one of the staff said that they will be converting this to an Air Bnb.

… some places to sit

…and more fountains and sculptures.
