Hydrant Droids in BGC

I love seeing old, forgotten things come back to life in the most unexpected ways. These non-working hydrants have been transformed into Star Wars-inspired art, and honestly, I couldn’t help but smile when I walked past them.

These were created by Filipino artist Jasmin Lacay. It’s part of BGC’s public art program, where artists transform everyday objects (like old hydrants) into interactive, fun pieces for the community. So these hydrants may not be fighting fires anymore, but they’re definitely keeping the force alive and making Terra 28th Park a lot more playful.

  5. This Public Art Project is a wonderful idea. Is the same one that did the boxes (not mail box, were they hydro boxes? I can’t remember), because those looked lovely too.
