The Streets and Windows of Avignon

“Still round the corner, there may wait, a new road or a secret gate.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

I am sharing this as part of Ludwig’s Monday Windows Challenge

Avignon in France makes a wonderful day trip destination, which really is a combination of the young urban vibe and medieval, old town settings.

Today, this walled town in the Provence region is a vibrant place full of cafes, fun shops and colourful alleys. Here is the more modern city centre…

And here are some of Avignon’s old town empty alley ways which we really enjoyed exploring.

Beautiful impressions of a “must see” town ! Thanks for sharing. I visited Avignon in 2012.

You are right, it really is a must see. But unfortunately, we were there only for a short time and didn’t get to see much. Thanks for the comment.

Wonderful Teresa, just love the way you’ve showcased these photos with such great angles

Thanks Ali. Some of these angled photos were taken by my husband. Glad you liked them.
