From temple doors to garden gates to a European-style station…Fansipan really takes you everywhere.
I am linking this to Dan’s Thursday Doors Challenge.

But one door stood out—and not quite in a good way. A modern Starbucks sat among the historic facades. However, on a cold day at the peak, a hot coffee would feel just right.

This is in Sapa, Vietnam

I love those doors into a field, Teresa. But I’m afraid I spurn Starbucks xx
Thanks Jo. And same here, I have the same feelings about that Starbucks being built there.
The Starbucks is sticks out like a sore thumb. I felt the same way in Rome, Italy, when I looked at the old impressive buildings and saw a McDonald’s in the midst. I suppose we have to live with it.
Well that is the modern world for you. Starbucks and McDonalds are everywhere.
Teresa, I love these doors. They are so unique. Vietnam has moved up on my bucket list of places to visit because of your posts. 👍🏽
Awww glad you think so. When are you planning to go? To tell you the truth it must be the cheapest country to go to.
These are great photos, Teresa, but I feel the same about the Starbucks. Didn’t we (USA) do enough damage to that lovely country?
I love the door/gates.
Well, I don’t mind them being everywhere…but in such a peaceful and sacred place, I think it really wasn’t fitting in. Thanks Dan for the comment.
Great shots. I do love the yellow door!
Thanks Brenda. The yellow door is as bright as the sunlight so it was so lovely to capture its vibrant colour.
What a fascinating place. I’ve started skipping Starbucks and seeking out local places when I travel. Their coffee is pretty bitter. I used to stop in for reliable wifi and a clean western style toilet now and again, but now most places have good wifi…along with better coffee.
You have to come to Melbourne… coffee here is amazing! Haha
I wish…was there one time for most of a day on a cruise. I could see there was so much more to see than the sample we got.
No, those stop overs are not really enough. Maybe one day… a proper visit.
