Later…

I am having a lovely time having a cuppa and I remembered this poem that I saw somewhere and thought I might share it with you. Don’t leave anything for later. Later, the coffee gets cold. Later, you lose interest. Later, the day turns into night. Later, people grow up. Later, people grow old. Later,…

Behind every Photograph

This week’s Lens-Artist Photo Challenge is hosted by Ritva who invites us to consider what is behind the subjects of our photography. Behind every photograph lies a story intertwined with its background. When I travel, I enjoy photographing buildings, especially churches. Here, I face a choice of capturing the entire scene or focusing solely on the sculpture in front of…

Tuesday Streetart 40 – Under Construction

The last time I visited Melbourne CBD, the roadside was undergoing construction, presumably for renewal, reconstruction, or extension. Surprisingly, instead of typical signage, it boasted charming street art featuring Australian animals. Adorable, isn’t it? I am linking this to Becky’s SquareRenew

The flower is burgeoning

Not my usual choice of word that I would use for flowers growing rapidly, but now I’m using it for Becky’s SquaresRenew challenge. I don’t even know if I used it correctly, but here goes… Also linking it for Cee’s FOTD Weekend challenge and for Cellpic Sunday Here is a pink Dahlia that I found…

Philippines Moving Forward

It’s Day 2 of Becky’s SquaresRenew and I am featuring something that is close to my heart. As a Filipino migrant residing in Australia, every time I see something “Filipino” like these trams in Melbourne and in Sydney….I feel so excited. “Lest we forget“

Borrowed from a line in a well-known poem written in the 19th century, the phrase ‘lest we forget’ means ‘it should not be forgotten’. We say or write ‘lest we forget’ in commemorations to remember always the service and sacrifice of people who have served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. ANZAC stands for Australian…

Tuesday Streetart – 34

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA I forgot where this streetart is actually located and I also don’t know who the artist is. I just know that it is from the streets of Melbourne. Saturday Blue Skies in High Street

There are many High Streets in Melbourne, but the one I am talking about is the street that runs through the city’s inner north suburbs of Northcote, Thornbury and Preston. Surprising news this week, as Time Out magazine ranked High Street as the coolest street in the world. In my opinion it is not, but when…

This is the Bluestone Chapel that sits high on a hill within the grounds of Montsalvat Arts Colony, only about 40 minutes away from Melbourne. Stained glass windows surround the chapel.
