Monochrome Moments at Place du Tertre

Visiting local markets is one of my favourite things to do when travelling.  And not to be missed is Place du Tertre, the famous artists’ square in the heart of Montmartre, Paris which is known for its lively atmosphere.

Montmartre is extra special—not only for its food and colourful stalls, but for the artists who turn the streets into an open-air gallery of caricatures and portraits. Please click on the image to see how impressive the portraits are.

Photos were taken in October 2023.

We watch a TV series called Portrait Artists of the Year, and I’m always fascinated at how well they achieve a likeness xx

Oh yes same here. Jack and I stayed there for a long time waiting for the portraits to finish. They are all so good!

Lovely to see Paris feature in your response, and you’re right about the skill of many of these artists 😀 Thanks for joining in!

My pleasure to join you in this one. At first I didn’t know where to go with this but I remembered how I enjoyed this market.
