This week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge comes from Ritva, who invites us to share a photograph along with another edited version of it.
Last weekend I went back to Melbourne CBD and took the train. This is the new Town Hall underground railway station.
A few steps down is the Melbourne Town Hall.
And this is one of my favourite arcade in the CBD, The Block Arcade. Built in 1892 and modeled after Milan’s grand galleria, this heritage-listed landmark captivates visitors with its magnificent glass-domed roof, mosaic floors, and timeless nineteenth-century character.

Passed by this eye-catching, music-themed murals on the doorways of Club Retro, located in Lonsdale Street. It was created by a local artist, Louis Moore.

Teresa, what a lovely place to take photos, and I like the crops and moves you took to create these images. The conversion to B&W is good, I like it better than the original. Melbourne was a lovely city visit and The Block Arcade we unfortunately missed seeing

The arcade is amazing, Teresa, and that is one of the best corner doors we’ve ever had on Thursday Doors. I love the colorful photos. Each place looks so alive. I think this post is helping me to wake up.

I love the picture of the underground station. I’ve always wanted to capture it but have been unable to do it with my phone. Your pictures capture the beauty of the place and I’m happy to see many I’ve been to.
Yes, my phone is my constant companion. It is good to capture because the station is so big that it’s easy to take a shot unobstructed.

Thanks A-C I just sometimes fail to appreciate it because of familiarity. Looking back, it really is quite an impressive place.
I miss Melbourne. When I worked there for a few months I always looked forward to exploring the architecture, streets and parks on weekends.
Oh where did you work here! Why did you move?
I worked at ANZ at the Docklands way back 2011. It was only a secondment, and I continued working in the Ph office after a few months in Melbs.

I have never been to Melbourne – looks like a fun place for be. I am a city girl at heart – although I don’t care to be amongst crowds, there is something very energizing about lovely buildings and streets.
