Autumn in Emerald Lake

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
-ALBERT CAMUS

Autumn … how lovely it is to sit under its lovely coloured foliage … from yellow to orange to red to maroon to amber and brown.

I am sharing with you some lovely scenes of autumn in my part of the world.

For Ann-Christine’s Lens Artist Photo Challenge – Backlit

We wanted to see the golden leaves of autumn, so after lunch, hubby and I decided to take about half an hour drive to Emerald Lake. It is a scenic location in the Dandenong Ranges of Victoria, Australia.

Now let me start with my walk in the Emerald Lake. For Jo’s Monday Walk Challenge.

Some of the trees have completely shed off their leaves …

It was so wonderful to hear the crackling of the leaves while walking our way up the hill…

Some of the tree trunks have weird shapes.

Then we decided to have coffee and chips at the Emerald Lake Tearoom.

For Xingfumama’s Pull Up a Seat Challenge

The sun, the sky, the clouds, the leaves were all perfect on this lovely day… I couldn’t ask for anything more.

For Xingfumama’s Whatsoever is Lovely Challenge

In the middle is the lake, people were hiring paddleboats to go around the lake.

For Jez’s Water Water Everywhere Challenge

On the other side of the bridge were these historical murals.

Beautiful murals, Teresa. I love that train on the trestle track, and the murals of the life and landscape before white settlement. Thank you for your PPAC contribution.

This place is home to Australia’s oldest and best-preserved heritage steam railway, Puffing Billy. Hence the mural. Maybe next time I will take a photo of it! Thanks Natalie

You are so right – Autumn is great and perfect for backlit beauties! You have some glorious trees here, and I love the different perspectives you have chosen.

    1. Teresa says:

Thanks Anne-Christine. Some of these backlit shots were taken by my husband because the leaves were high up and I couldn’t take the glow from my height. haha

      1. Leya says:

Well – good thinking with a good result!
