This wasn’t meant to be a day of walking, but Jack had a specialist appointment in Frankston… so, lucky for me! We made the most of our time and walked from the beach into the town centre.
Ju-Lyn’s Happy Place Happy Space
Because it was Monday, the beach was quiet, providing a peaceful start to our outing. Frankston sits between Melbourne and the peaceful seaside towns of the Mornington Peninsula. The suburb stretches from the coast towards its town centre.

Along the way, we crossed several bridges over its waterways, making it a perfect fit for Beth’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge this week, themed Bridges.

Natalie’s Photographing Public Art Challenge

The bridges weren’t the only things that caught my eye. Sandy paths and waterways led us past an array of public art, while Frankston’s annual Mural Festival brings even more colour and creativity to its streets. Walls, buildings, and electric boxes are transformed into vibrant outdoor artworks, giving the suburb plenty of character.

Along the streets and shops are the vibrant colourful displays of Doors in Murals and Electric Boxes.
Dan’s Thursday Doors Challenge

What began as a trip for an appointment became an unexpectedly enjoyable day of exploring.

What a wonderful way to get to an appointment. You always find the best street art, Teresa. I enjoyed tagging along with you guys. I think you know how much I love bridges. I know I’m supposed to be here for the doors (which are wonderful) but I love bridges.
I love bridges too so we are on the same page. Thanks Dan … I never would miss posting my doors for you.
I appreciate the support – thanks!
What a beautiful place to walk! Thanks for these beautiful bridge images in response to the bridges challenge.
Thanks Beth and thanks for the challenge as well since I love taking photos of bridges.
The perfect walk, Teresa! So much interesting things to see. The bridges are lovely and I was most impressed with the street art.
Oh yes, I was also surprised to see so much in one place. Thanks Sofia.
Excellent gallery and great finds, Teresa. I love the street artwork on the utility box and the first mural with the man and woman with the flowers on the side of the building. Outstanding.
Thanks Suzette for your thoughts. That mural on the side of the wall was also a surprise find.
Great doors and street art, Teresa. I hope all went well with Jack’s appointment. Thanks for thinking of me, hon xx
Thanks Jo… always love sharing any walk I make with you. Jack is fine, thanks for asking.
So much character discovered on your walk.
Thanks VJ. The suburb has so much character without even trying.
You’re welcome
What a great unplanned walk, Teresa. 😊
Some unplanned walks are better. Thanks Pepper.
I agree! 😊
I haven’t taken photos in Frankston, I always seem to drive through it. Looking at all this, I might have to take a second look.
There are so many murals here which I have posted before. But they always have new ones every year in their festival. Thanks Leanne.
I love all that street art and the colourful utility boxes! What a great way to get to an appointment 😀
It turned out to really be a great day out. Thanks Sarah.
A delightful walk to an appointment! I love the murals and the painted utility boxes, especially the octopus one by the pier. Thank you for your PPAC contribution.
If only every appointment was like this haha. Glad you liked that octopus. Thanks Natalie.
Discovering murals are fun surprises.
Always. Thanks.
Lovely public art and bridges! Frankston is quite pretty.
Thanks Rebecca and yes Frankston is a fun explore.
I am delighted you brought us along on this unexpected exploration! How lovely that what could have been a routine appointment turned into a beautiful day of fun sights. So much lovely public art to behold – do they invite local artists to paint the murals?
Every year there is a festival wherein artists do their work for a few days then there’s an event after that. It has been happening for a few years now so you could just imagine how many wall murals that are there now. Thanks Ju-Lyn.
The curves of that one bench are marvelous.
Yes, I think so too. Thanks Mama.
