I’m a very bad chess player but I always admire beautifully carved chess pieces. There are some stunning ones, aren’t there?
Oh yes they are unique pieces. Same here, don’t understand the game at all.
Love chess & pieces like these always make it a more enjoyable game 😃
So it seems you play the game? That’s good… my husband does too, but I don’t. Thanks for commenting Jez.
Nice chess set!
Yup, found it around town.
At the beginning of our relationship I gifted my husband one or two beautiful chessboards. He is an avid and quite good player. He admired them, put them aside and kept playing with his big piece, old, less ornate set. He says they just feel right in his hand. I’ve learned to distinguish between ornamental chess pieces (beautiful like your seven) and “working” pieces.
Haha some are for using and some are just for display I guess
Interesting. I thought it was invented in India. It must have traveled east then.
Oh I don’t really know. Maybe its history is from India. I didn’t get that far haha
Sadly I never learned to play chess and I don’t have the patience now.
Same here. I know the basics, but not enough to win a game haha
These are beautiful objects whether you want to play chess or simply admire them as art 🙂
Well I am on the second category. The colour is attractive isn’t it.
a beautiful board, but if only I could play
Thanks and same here
