Where did 10 years go?

2026 is the new 2016” isn’t just a random caption — it’s become a social media phenomenon where millions of users on platforms like TikTok and Instagram – ChatGPT

Joining the bandwagon of nostalgia… grateful I went when I could, laughed when I did, and took way too many photos. These are photos from my 2016 travels — a whole decade ago… excuse me while I process that 😅

Back then, I was slimmer, more flexible, more active… and I didn’t have any pre-existing medical conditions to declare when travelling. Gosh, how I wish that were still the case.

2016 was my first European adventure: a 23-day tour across several countries, then more than a week in Scotland, two weeks in the Philippines, and finally back home to Melbourne. PHEEEWW.

I’m so glad I did it when I could… because I know I couldn’t do it the same way now. Grateful for the memories and the courage to go when I did

Thanks Darlene. Aside from the aches and pains and the hatred of long haul flights, I still have the passion for travelling. Hope I can still do it for many more years.

What a wonderful trip that must have been! And it is impossible to take too many pics…. Just saying. . . 😉

Great memories and photos to look back on but scary how fast the time seems to go. I can clearly remember significant events in my life ten years ago but they seem like only a few weeks ago.

I know right. Time goes by so quickly that we don’t even notice it.

You’re so right that we should do these things when we can! But it’s great that ten years on you’re still getting out there and seeing the world, even if (like me) you have to pace yourself a bit more 🤗

Looking forward to more trips but you’re right… at a slower pace. That is what I should remember because I tend to still pack in so many activities when I shouldn’t. Thanks Sarah.
