For those of you who have been following me, you know how much I love street art. It’s something I seek out wherever I go, and when I find it, there’s always this lovely sense of joy.
These are murals by Jamin which can be found in Elizabeth Street in Hobart, Tasmania. Jamin (Dr Benjamin Kluss) is a Muralist and artist based in Tasmania.
This mural was commissioned by UTAS (University of Tasmania). It is painted across two areas of this new public space, and the two halves are visually and conceptually linked. These two murals were painted in October 2022.
This is a painting of his daughter, Mia, peering into a portal.
A closeup to see more details.
The smaller of the two murals. And that is my daughter, Pat, standing in front.
The continuation of the second mural
These are very beautiful. I especially liked the little birds in the continuation, peeking out among the bricks.
