Travel Diary: Sa Pa to Hoi An – Days 6 & 7

Day 6

It was supposed to be our rest day, but we found this place just beside our hotel in Sa Pa, so of course, we had to check it out.

This is Moana. Definitely one of those spots you visit at least once, even just out of curiosity. It’s very Instagrammable, with carefully styled viewpoints set against a beautiful mountainous backdrop.

And yes, of course I ended up in a lot of these photos… because when you’re somewhere like this, you kind of want to remember that you were part of it too. Lucky for me, I had my husband and niece patiently capturing all these little moments for me and my sister. Haha

Day 7

Today was one of those days that felt like it was made entirely for transit. These are drive by shots of doors upon leaving the main town of Sa Pa.

(I am linking this to Dan’s Thursday Doors Challenge).

We left Sa Pa at around 11:30 AM, winding our way down the mountains by van.

We reached Noi Bai International Airport just before sunset at 6:30 PM.

From there, it was straight onto an evening flight with VietJet Air at 8:15, landing in Da Nang by 9:35 pm.

But the day wasn’t quite over yet.

A final car ride took us to our hotel in Hoi An. How welcoming the chairs were at the lobby of Thanh Binh Riverside Hotel.

(I am linking this to Xingfumama’s Pull Up a Seat Challenge.)

Here, the quiet glow of lanterns welcomed us at the end of a very long journey… as we walked at almost midnight to get something to eat.

This is the kind of day that leaves you exhausted, but also quietly satisfied knowing you’ve made it to somewhere new.

Those chairs at the end looked mighty comfortable. I think I would have settled into one and nodded off after the day you describe. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.

Thanks Dan. Haha that was exactly what we wanted to do. But I was still so wide eyed after a long day because it is another new place that I haven”t seen before.

I’m really enjoying all your Vietnam posts, both reliving places we loved like Hoi An and seeing ones that we missed such as Moana 😀

I love Hoi An, I could’ve stayed there longer. But Moana is a place that can be missed if you don’t like posing and taking selfies haha

I don’t like posing and taking selfies, but I still think I’d find it interesting – and might enjoy taking some candid shots of those people who do enjoy that sort of thing!

Oh that is true. There were many that we saw having these kinds of poses.
