River

This week, Johnbo invites us to “Pick a Word” and select three or four appropriate photos to share about it. The word I am choosing is – RIVER.

In my travels I love sitting by a river where I feel at peace, watching the water shimmer and listening to its soft, steady flow. Here are a few of my favourite- places and rivers.

This is the Duoro River which flows through the heart of Porto, Portugal. Whether crossing the Dom Luís I Bridge, taking a river cruise, or simply watching the sunset over the water, the Douro brings a special charm to Porto’s atmosphere.

The Seine River flows through the iconic landmarks, bridges, bookstalls, and riverboats which add to its allure, making it one of the most beloved rivers in the world.

The Vltava River is the soul of Prague, winding through the city and reflecting its historic beauty. The Vltava flows under Charles Bridge, where swans glide gracefully, adding to Prague’s fairytale charm.

We went to Girona just for a day trip, but its charm and history made a lasting impression. This is the Onyar River that flows through Girona. The banks are lined with colourful houses that reflect beautifully in the water. Bridges cross its calm surface, offering stunning views of the city’s charm and history.

  5. I am echoing Sarah’s comment. Rivers are the lifeblood of the cities that are fortunate enough to have one flow through the town. Great word choice, Teresa.

I’m not sure why your post didn’t load in my browser right away, but after a few minutes, I tried again, and it loaded quickly.
