On the Waters of Faraway Lands …

“Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell.” – Paula Bendfeldt

Missing travelling? 2 years and 8 months, that has been the amount of time that I had not done something that I so love. Especially now that borders have been opening up in other countries, I am feeling a bit jealous because situations in our country is still a bit bleak.

For this week, I have compiled some shots from my travels, which I have been missing so much. Some boats, yachts, gondolas and ships on rivers, lakes, oceans, lochs, and canals for Lens Artist Photo Challenge – On the Water; for Debbie’s One Word Sunday – Missing; and for Jez’s Water Water Everywhere Challenge

The Danube River in Budapest

Vltava River in Czech Republic

Pandin Lake in the Philippines

The Falkirk Wheel in the Scottish Canal

The Royal Yacht Britannia in Scotland

The Canals of Amsterdam

Some house boats in Regent’s Canal in London

A tug boat at the River Danube in Vienna

The boats at the Glencoe Boat Club in the Highlands of Scotland

The Sightseeing Cruises in France

The gondolas on the Grand Canal in Venice

Is it obvious that I am missing it too much? Have a great day Nes!

  2. A wonderful collection of “on the water” images. So many styles of seagoing vessels and the waterways upon which they sail. Thanks for participating in my challenge.

Some truly marvelous places Teresa. And beautifully captured – makes me miss international travel especially. So far haven’t ventured beyond the US. Maybe next year?

    1. Teresa says:

Haven’t really gone away too. Melbourne is really bad in getting the vaccine out there. Not even 10% has been administered. Gosh 🙄

        Sigh

  5. I haven’t been out of the US for several years now and am ready to go, although I read it’s still a bit of a hassle. I’ve been fortunate to take a number of trips here, though, and I hope you’re able to travel somewhere soon. It’s truly something to miss. Lovely shots of places I’d love to be visiting, too.

    Ah, lovely waterways.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful series. I found your Vltava River composition very whimsical, the houseboats on Regent Canal nostalgic (I have walked/runned here many times before and is one of my favourite places to visit when in London), and the tugboat on the Danube so very atmospheric.

    1. Teresa says:

Oh Ju-Lyn I so do miss these places. Happy that it brought back lovely memories to you too!

      1. Ju-Lyn says:

        Indeed many of them did!
