Back to Square One…

With U3A and retirement, there’s never a dull moment. I’ve been learning new skills, letting go of some and making space for others. I’ve paused wood burning (pyrography) and Chinese cooking, and taken up knitting and oil painting instead.

Oil painting feels familiar enough, but knitting is completely new to me. Being back to square one is humbling. There are moments I feel clumsy and slow, yet there’s something lovely about being a beginner again — taking the time to learn, to be patient, and to accept that it’s okay not to be good at something straight away.

Every time I see mention of U3A I think I should make more efforts to connect with the group here. It opens so many doors xx

Well done on taking up knitting. I find it the most stressful occupation on earth. I’ve given up for fear I might murder someone whie struggling with it!

Haha I so love your comment. We shall see how long I can cope with knitting. Who knows … maybe just one term.
