Aside from Disneyland, Paris is the only other place that was in my bucketlist when I was a lot younger. I thought to myself that when I find a boy, Paris is the place to be, because it is the City of Love and Romance.

But several decades later, what do I think about Paris? Well, it wasn’t where I found the love of my life, that’s for sure. But Paris, no doubt, has a romantic ambiance… combination of its language, its beautiful architecture, its history as well as its cuisine. A mere stroll in the promenade while listening to La Vie En Rose will leave you breathless.

We went to Paris in September of 2016 and seeing just the tip of the Eiffel Tower from the front window of the coach made us all so excited.

And aside from the tower, who wouldn’t get excited seeing these Parisian restaurants and architecture from the bus.

So here I go…. Bonjour! “Welcome to the top of Paris”.

At the 59th floor of the Montparnasse Tower Observation Deck, you can see an amazing bird’s eye view of the city. 

Walking on foot along the streets of Paris is a wonderful thing to do, but viewing it on water level is a greatly different experience.

We saw many rides available docked on the river…some lavish, some private boat houses, some even look like pirate ships.

But we went on a simple one and it did the job just fine. We discovered Paris through a Seine River Cruise and we were so amazed as it winded its way through the heart of the city.

We got to see the most iconic sites of Paris along the waterway.

The Eiffel Tower

Île de la Cité is one of the two remaining natural islands in the Seine. We got up close and personal with the Notre Dame Cathedral which is located in Île de la Cité.

Musee d’Orsay is a museum on the left bank of the Seine.

Musee du Louvre is a museum on the right bank of the Seine.

Here are some the beautiful bridges of Paris as seen from the Seine River Cruise:

Pont Alexandre III – called “the most beautiful bridge in the world.”. It is designed in the Beaux-Arts style, with ornate decorations and art noveau lamps.

Pont de Bir-Hakeim has a foot and car path below with a metro line above it.

The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine.

Pont des Invalides is the lowest bridge travelling the Seine.

Pont Royal Bridge is the third oldest bridge in Paris.

The Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts is a pedestrian bridge

Pont Au Change connects The Place du Châtelet (a public square in Paris) on the right bank of the River Seine with The Île de la Cité

We went back to our hotel after the river cruise, But my husband and I thought that it would be a waste to just stay in the hotel since it was still early. We took the Metro and went back to the city centre to see the Eiffel Tower at night. We had crepe on the side of the road and walked around.

Crossed the street and went to the direction of the Tower and we got more and more excited as the lights made a wonderful display.

According to rumours from our tour companions, they said that it may be a waste of time to go up the Eiffel Tower because it was always very busy, day or night. As we got nearer, we noticed that there were not much people there..so yay! Time to go up then.

Took the Metro again back to our hotel. Feeling quite nervous because we were not familiar with the area and it was already nearly midnight by then. But we arrived in our hotel room in one piece. We had a restful sleep since we were so tired. Another day in this beautiful city tomorrow.
