TRAVEL DIARY: PARIS 3
On our final day in Paris, October 11th, we aimed to explore as many Art attractions as we could before leaving.
Initially, our plan was to visit Sainte Chapelle, but without a prebooking, the lengthy queue stalled our progress for 30 minutes. We opted to change course and explore another destination instead.
Walked to 59 Rivoli, which is a gallery, an art studio and a place where artists have the freedom to express what they feel.
This building’s facade can’t be ignored as it stands out from the rest of the other buildings on the street. . I believe the design changes from time to time and when we went there in October 2023, the building is all covered with colourful butterflies. .

Free admission begins at 1 pm, yet a queue started forming well in advance. Inside, various rooms showcase an array of sketches and paintings. Ascended a spiral staircase adorned with graffiti and artwork.
With just a 4 minute walk we went to the LV Dream building. I am not really into designer outfits but just got interested because I saw that this had a huge sculpture of Yayoi Kusama. However, we were told that this event had ended. Oh well, just went in just the same and enjoyed the exhibition..
Walked about 10 minutes and this time we reached the Tunnel des Tuileries. This tunnel, formerly for motorists, has transformed into a delightful space for cyclists, scooter users, and pedestrians to enjoy. Since the summer of 2022 this 860-metre-long tunnel was transformed into giant canvasses.
Some parts of the tunnel only had streaks of light coming out of from walls which gave it a more dramatic effect.
It is like a never ending museum of murals. Until it came to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Crossed the bridge to our last Art destination and saw these. Such a pretty exhibition of art pieces and a great way for artists to sell their works.
Last destination of the day is the Musee d’Orsay, on the left bank of the Seine.
Famous for its vast collect of Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world with the likes of Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir and Van Gogh.
It is a converted railway station which was designed by Victor Laloux
On our way out we took the time to admire the Six Continents sculptures on the esplanade in front of the museum.
At the end of the day, we had dinner at a wonderful cafe near our hotel.

Paris, a dream destination with enchanting churches, scenic river cruises, world-class museums, captivating tunnel street art, and exquisite cuisine. Grateful for the lovely time – thank you, Paris!
I think the d’Orsay was our favourite when we visited with the l’Orangerie and those huge water lilies next. If we go back I think we will pay 59 Rivoli a visit
We chose d’ORsay because it is a small-ish museum and is not as overwhelming as the others. Yes, the 59 Rivoli is interesting.
You certainly packed plenty of art into this day! A shame you didn’t get inside the Sainte Chapelle as it’s stunning, but you saw so much just the same. We were too early to go inside 59 Rivoli on our recent visit but now I can see what we missed it’s top of my list for next time! The tunnel too, we’ve never ventured there, so I’m adding it to my list too 🙂
Yes because we just went to Sainte Chapelle last minute so that’s our fault. Anyway, I believe you when you say that you will add it on your bucket list… it is so easy for you to travel there. Thanks Sarah.
