For this week, the topic for Sofia’s Challenge is Looking Up/Looking Down. I experimented on the slider using it from top to bottom.
This is the St Stephen’s Cathedral and is a landmark of Vienna. It is the most important Gothic church in the city. One of the most recognizable parts of the St. Stephen’s Cathedral is its colorful roof. Once you get to the top, the view is breathtaking and if you take a closer look, you’ll notice a beautiful mosaic representing the double-headed eagle, symbol of the Habsburg dynasty.
St Mark’s Bell Tower in St. Mark’s Square is one of the symbols of Venice. It is quite a bit of an effort to go up the tower because of the long queue but the view from up there was simply spectacular. Seeing the Grand Canal and the gondolas was just awesome.
The Prague Astronomical Clock is a medieval astronomical clock attached to the Old Town Hall in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Every hour on the hour, the clock strikes and the area below was always crowded with tourists and locals alike. But the view from the top of the Town Hall is so amazing on all sides and my fave is seeing the Church of Our Lady before Tyn from high above.

Happy to say I’ve visited all three and actually went to the top of the first two. You’re so right, all three are marvelous. I love the way you showed them from close up and far away. I never thought to do that and it gives one a much more interesting perspective to see how they dominate the landscape. Kudos on this one, well done!
These are the only three that we have gone up and maybe a few more. But the rest we didn’t anymore because
it takes so long to queue up especially if you are with a tour group. But the view compensates for it I guess. Thanks for the comment Tina!
