“Take short walks in the park down a happy trail.” – Frederick Lenz
This is Emerald Lake Park, a 52 hectare gardens and bushland, featuring the beautiful Lake Treganowan. It takes just a little bit more than an hour drive from Melbourne CBD. The park is a good place to go for a stroll, a hike, a picnic with family and friends or even just to have a quiet reflection.
Jack and I went for a walk here one early morning in November just after the lockdown restrictions have been lifted. It was still very peaceful that time of the day but became very busy after we had done our walk.
Through several bridges and walking trails we walked for more than an hour.
It is home to native and exotic plants as well as many animals but were hard to spot during the day. Only the ever loyal ducks were there to entertain us.
The park also has paddleboats and picnic tables…
It also has some murals associated with the area and an olden style amphitheatre.
Emerald Lake Park has amazing shade trees and gigantic Eucalyptus trees.

Thanks Cee, hope you can see all the photos now as I have reloaded the photos.
Teresa is a pity that you only see two pictures of the ones you wanted to show us. but they look great.
best regards robert
Hi Robert, thanks for the comment as I have tried to revise the page. Hopefully you can see all the photos now.
wonderful pictures that you have chosen, i like them very much, teresa.
many greetings robert
I can only see two pictures too.
Thanks for telling me about this. I have tried to fix it…hopefully it is all ok now.
Great park.An hour seems like the minimum. I think I could spend all day there. Based on other comments I’ll note that I saw lots of photos, both black and white and color in this post.
Thanks Mama… I don’t know what happened there but I have tried to reload the photos. Hopefully it’s all showing now.
To be fair, I walk most days, Teresa, so it doesn’t much matter when you post. I’m feeling lazy today. Perhaps I’ll take a paddle boat instead. Care to join me? 🙂 🙂
I have to pass for today…it is 1 degree here in Melbourne.
Eek! 🙁
P.S I thought it was just my old laptop being slow, but a couple of people have said they can’t see the photos either. Perhaps you need to reload them? 🙁
I did just that…hopefully you can see it all now. Just a favour….can you please tell me if it is all ok now if you find the time? Regards and have a good weekend Jo.
It’s beautiful, Teresa. Thank you so much for doing that 🙂 🙂 And you, too!
I can see all your beautiful photos Teresa. I’m in Melbourne now but no chance to meet. I have come down with a horrible cold, typical. We are off to Philip Island for the weekend
Enjoy Ali. It is a cold day but going to be a nice this weekend. Have a great time with family. I am off to the city today to take advantage of the sun!
