Music is often called the universal language because it transcends borders, cultures, and languages. A melody can evoke emotions, tell a story, or spark memories, no matter where you’re from or what language you speak.
This is my entry to Margaret’s Monochrome Madness Challenge with the theme of Music. Also linking it to Leanne’s blog.
The first set features solo musicians playing guitar on the streets of Melbourne, and another in front of the Porto Cathedral. The third performer stands out as truly unique—he plays with a monkey by his side, captivating passersby near the side door of the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre.
Here we have a group of musicians performing on the iconic Charles Bridge, a duo enchanting visitors in Park Güell, and an orchestra bringing music to life in the heart of Praça Ribeira in Porto.
These are some of my friends—Bernard, a professional classical guitarist with his mate playing the bongo, and a few others who are members of the Excelsis Choir during one of their concerts in Melbourne.
Here is some public art featuring famous musicians that I discovered along the streets and laneways of Melbourne.
My fun-loving family, goofing around and pretending to play music on a public art display in a street in northern Melbourne.
Amazing images
Thanks a lot Mangus.
You made a great job of this, Teresa! Love the feature photo, and the choir look like they’re enjoying singing so much.
I almost forgot where I saved these photos. Glad I found them. Thanks Jo.
Oh Teresa, what a fabulous selection. From street performers to street art, there’s so much joy here. Thank you!
Thanks too for the challenge, Margaret. I had fun choosing what to feature.
Great post, I think I’ve seen that painting 🙂
Is it the Jimi Hendrix one? That is in the ACDC Lane in Melbourne. Thanks for commenting Ritva.
Types, I have a photo of it too
Cool 👍
Wonderful collection Teresa
Thanks so much Brian.
Super variety here Teresa – I love that you included some musical street art alongside the actual performers!
Well you know me…I am a streetart person. Glad you liked them.
