TUILERIES TUNNEL, PARIS
Tunnel des Tuileries is a tunnel parallel to the Seine. The “L’art urbain en bord de Seine” (Urban art on the banks of the Seine) project began in the summer of 2022, aimed at enhancing the capital in anticipation of the 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
The 860-meter-long Tuileries tunnel, once a thoroughfare for motorists, has been transformed into a space for cyclists, scooter users, and pedestrians. Now a leisurely destination, it allows visitors to enjoy and appreciate the murals adorning both sides of the tunnel.
Here are a few murals focusing on eyes.
What a great piece of documentation.
It was a long stretch of tunnel. At first I got anxious. But after a while I felt ok especially seeing the wonderful art.
These are super – I’ve just added this to my list of things we might do on our next Paris trip as I hadn’t realised how much street art was in the tunnel!
Yes, there’s a lot to see there. I will be posting more next week. Hopefully you can visit it next time, Sarah.
All incredible but I like the pink eye best
Great eye detail, right? Love it too.
