Szentendre Triptychs in Monochrome

This week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge is from Elke with the theme of Triptychs.

This is Szentendre, a charming riverside town just outside Budapest, known for its cobblestone streets, colourful facades, and creative art scene. With its baroque churches, quirky museums, vibrant public art, and lively markets, the town feels both historic and playful.

Szentendre in monochrome tells its story in quiet tones. Done as a triptych: first, the churches—timeless, still, and grounding the town in history.

Next, the vibrant public art, stripped of colour yet still full of character and contrast.

And finally, the market, capturing simple moments of daily life as they come and go.

Together, these three sets capture the soul of Szentendre beyond colour—simple yet beautifully lived.
