Travel Diary in Roppongi – Day 1 (Part 2)

Our first day in Tokyo wasn’t over yet, but my last post was getting a little long—so here’s the continuation. We hopped on a train to Roppongi, known for its artsy vibe, and ended up arriving earlier than our booking to a Museum. Perfect excuse for lunch.

We found a spot at Mohri Salvatore, with a lovely view overlooking the peaceful Mori Garden. It’s a small Japanese garden with gentle waterfalls, winding streams, lush greenery, and a quiet pond at its heart.

We looked up and were suddenly surrounded by these stunning buildings towering above us.

Viewed Sou Fujimoto’s exhibit at the Mori Museum — a dreamy mix of nature, ideas, and futuristic architecture.

As the sun was setting, we looked out from the Mori Museum window and saw the city glowing beautifully below.

With the view of the Tokyo Tower from afar, a Hello Kitty exhibit that we didn’t enter and a Maman Spider Sculpture (a fourth one that we’ve seen from our travels) we decided to make our way back to the hotel by train of course.

We finally alighted at the Toyosu train station, and that’s where I noticed this sculpture. Didn’t find out who the sculptor is though.

It was only 6 p.m., but it was already so dark—and we still hadn’t had dinner yet. Definitely time to eat!

I knew we walked a lot today, but I didn’t expect to hit 16,487 steps. One full day done — and many more to go!

What a busy day and lots of eating and drinking. Looks like you’ve definitely walked off those calories though

Hopefully I did. It was definitely a lot of walking trip. Maybe same as your Portugal trip?
