This particular piece of street art really caught my attention. I asked hubby pull over at the corner of a paddock.
The Bruny (Beyond) Blue Farmer is a cheerful figure with a round face crafted from fencing wire, and it made me smile, as her face seemed to smile right back. The little details, like the tiny bluebird on her shoulder, the blue flowers at her feet, and the dog by her side, add an extra touch of charm.
This Public Art may look cheerful, but it has a deeper meaning. It’s part of a campaign with Beyond Blue aimed at raising awareness of mental health and encouraging people to look out for each other. The image of the farmer “looking out” reflects this message of support and care.
I am linking this to Natalie’s Photographing Public Art Challenge (PPAC) and for Debbie’s Six Word Saturday
As you say, ‘cheerful’ yet serious. Nice capture.
Thanks a lot!
The Bruny Island Farmer is very eye catching. I am presuming it can be seen by anyone passing. A great cause too.
Yes Jennifer, it can be seen because it’s on the main road. But I don’t think people will stop to see what it really is. I just forced my husband to stop.
Must give a smile to walkers in etc area. Lovely!
Well it made me smile so hopefully the other people would too. Thanks Debbie.
This is cute and with a serious message too!
Thanks Sarah. ❤️
What a charming installation for a great cause. Thank you for your PPAC contribution.
My pleasure to share, Natalie.
That is super cute! Love the creativity of people.
For sure. Thanks Kirstin.
The public art looks good and I do appreciate the message.
Yes, powerful message for everyone
