“Pinoy Pride”

It has always been a Filipino athlete’s dream to win gold in the Olympics, but somehow that hasn’t happened … until now. Although I am living so far away from my homeland, it brought tears to my eyes seeing Hidilyn Diaz, the first ever Filipino to win gold in the Tokyo Olympics. And what a great feeling to hear the Philippine National Anthem being played as Hidilyn stands on the top podium high and proud and in tears. You can’t see her face because of the mask she is wearing but we all know that she is singing at the top of her lungs, in between sobs of joy, the “Bayang Magiliw”

Congratulations, Hidilyn.

“The entire Filipino nation is proud of you.”

“Pinoy Pride” !

cheers to us my Pinoy friends in WP Arlene Wilma Eduardo Nes

Congratulations! I have a fondness for the Philippines (I’ve been there a lot for work). And I get very sentimental over great performances, so I understand your tears.
