“So much of who we are is where we have been.” – William Langewiesche
The bronze statue of Cumil (The Watcher) is quite popular to locals as well as visitors to Bratislava, Slovakia. This sculpture is known as “Man at Work” is by Viktor Hulik.
No one knows exactly what this man is doing… some say he is a representation of the laziness of the Slovaks, some would see him as a sewer worker, but the tour director told us that he is just an ordinary “Peeping Tom”. (Well who knows what the true version is).
I’m guessing he needed a breath of fresh air
Oh yea maybe he did haha
Love this statue. 😁
They have lots of sculptures in Bratislava…if only we got more time.
How ingenious! I love this.
Thanks for joining.
A pleasure!
Really cool. Thanks for sharing!
Always a pleasure!
Wonderful sculpture. It could do with a warning sign, though: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2021/01/13/keep-calm/
Oh surely!
I like it. Does anyone ever trip over him?
I don’t really know. But he can never be missed because people are always around taking photos of him.
I really like this!
