The ancient splendour and beauty of Prague, a city beyond compare, left an impression on my imagination that will never fade. – Richard Wagner
This was our last day in Prague so the plan was to do everything and visit everywhere that we planned on seeing.
Yesterday, we were in Charles Bridge, but we were not satisfied with what we experienced because there were so many people around. So on our last day we decided to leave our hotel before we even had our breakfast
Oh what a beautiful site… more beautiful than what we were expecting.
Charles Bridge is a famous stone bridge that is so beautiful with all the statues of saints on both sides and fantastic view of Prague.

Strolling across this bridge is something you shouldn’t miss when visiting Prague. The best time to visit it is early morning… and I am not kidding. A little effort in waking up early goes a long, long way…
Walk along the Charles Bridge from the Old Town side going to the Mala Strana side. Once the square opens, go down the steps and you will see this view.
I stood there in awe for a few minutes…especially because of the amazing golden autumn leaves.
Mala Strana, (also called the lesser Town) is the more enchanting part of Prague. It starts from just underneath the area of the Prague Castle and it extends down to the riverside area also known as Kampa.
A romantic Streetart underneath the stone bridge.
Now, let me focus on the Certovka Canal, which is a man-made canal on the western side of the Vltava river in Prague. I was so impressed with this little place because it is not a top tourist attraction, but I tell you… It is really very picturesque. And because the houses were very close to the canal just like in Venice, it is sometimes called “the Prague Venice”.
I saw a lot of “love locks” which made it a more romantic view.
So much better without the crowds, Teresa! Well worth getting up early for. Thanks for a lovely share 🤗💟
For sure it was worth it! Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for these lovely impressions of Prague and for the information you added 🙂
Have a lovely day and greets,
Rudi
Thanks Rudi. Glad you liked it.
That was really worth getting up early for, you got some great shots! And as you say, the autumn leaves make it extra special 🙂
It also pays to read comments of other people before you go.
You brought back happy memories with this post. And I agree – getting up early is the best way to see this wonderful city at its best.
Thanks so much…. Sorry just saw your message now.
