Inspired by Leanne’s Monochrome Madness Theme of Carousel, this image was captured while wandering the streets of Paris. Jack and I were walking from the Eiffel Tower along the Seine, heading towards where the Bateaux-Mouches boats were docked, an easy half-hour stroll. We boarded the river cruise at sunset and that’s when the city softened into gold.
According to my research, this carousel has since closed, making this moment all the more precious.

This was taken in November of 2023.

Wonderful! xx
Thanks Jo. Sorry to see it go.
A great angle on that first shot in particular! But I can’t believe the Eiffel Tower has closed, unless it’s a temporary thing for building works?
Thanks Sarah. Glad you liked that and my bad. I meant the carousel is not there anymore not the tower. How can the tower be gone haha
Sorry, not a laughing matter. Should check everything first before posting. Sorry again my friend.
No worries, we all do similar things from time to time 😀
Beautiful shot!
Thanks Rebecca.
I looked on the official website. Although the tower closes on occasion due to crowds, security and strikes, according to the official website one may buy tickets to the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Sorry Rebecca, I should have proofread it better. I corrected it now and as I have told Sarah it is the Carousel that’s not there anymore. Sorry for the confusion. That would have made me worried too if the tower was gone.
Thanks, Teresa. Oh, the carousel was temporary? I guess the tower was supposed to be but stuck around a century or more because of rave reviews.
Yes this specific carousel is not there anymore from late 2025. That’s what the social media platforms are saying. But a lot of other carousels still around the area.
What a shame it has closed, it looks amazing Teresa.
Thanks Leanne.
