An Afternoon Walk on Mother’s Day

”Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.” – Unknown

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you great mothers out there. I am wishing you more blessing, more love and more happiness in your lives!

It is Mother’s Day today, but I had an early celebration yesterday. I always enjoy this day as it is the only day that I am the “star” of the day 😂😂😂 I was greeted by a big hug and a bunch of flowers from my daughter, Pat and a gift of pampering from her and Tim!

First thing we did was have lunch at a very yummy Thai restaurant, Jinda Thai Restaurant in Abbotsford, Melbourne. I do not have to say what we had because my mouth is already drooling.

We walked around everywhere taking photos of some of my favourite things.

Brunswick Street is a place where one can find amazing, huge murals. The first mural of a lady with a veil or a scarf is by Adnate and can be found in the corner of Brunswick Street and Johnston Street in Fitzroy. I am not sure who did the second one…I just found it interesting.

Went to two galleries, the CCP or the Centre of Contemporary Photography and the Brunswick Street Gallery.

With the walk I also saw some interesting windows on the second floor of the Tin Pot Cafe where we got some cakes with our afternoon tea.

  5. I came to see the murals. They are both very different. I loved the lady, but the second one was a bit scary. Great finds, though. Happy Mother’s Day to you.

    1. Teresa says:

Thanks for the visit. I think the second one is a bit random. But the first one is by a well known mural artist.

    1. Teresa says:

What a great day you had – and full of interesting things to spot.

    1. Teresa says:

Surely that was a great place to explore to see interesting stuff! I really have to go back but my daughter is moving house so I won’t be going there often now!

      1. margaret21 says:

Oh dear. I’m sure you’ll find an excuse or two.

        1. Teresa says:

          I am sure 👍🏼

You had a wonderful celebration and still managed to take lots of photos.
I love the Adnate mural, he’s such a talented artist.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Teresa.

    1. Teresa says:

Yes Sami…I like Adnate’s works! My pleasure to join.

Thank you for the nice stroll. Some fine things to see and explore. BUT. Yes, I do have a “but” today. Seems like you changed the theme. The text is now tiny and hard to read. The images are large and overlap the edge of my screen. I did not find a way to adjust to see both well at the same time.
Thank you for the charming windows! A fine walk!

    1. Teresa says:

Thanks for the comment Ludwig and I put the theme back to what it was before. Is it better now? Thanks again for the feedback, greatly appreciated.

      1. Ludwig says:

It is again readable. The text at the top is rather small for us old-timers, but readable. The text farther down is fine. The pictures now fit into the browser window. What theme were you trying to use?

        1. Teresa says:

I forgot, I was just trying out different ones. Anyway, this will do. Thanks.

What a great day you had! I love Thai food and haven’t had any for ages so I’m a tad jealous 😆 I also love your daughter’s hair – so vibrant and cheerful!

    1. Teresa says:

Thanks, I really had a wonderful day! And yes, she surprised me a few weeks ago with a change of hair colour so I won’t have the chance to get mad at her haha

  14. Art & Food!!! Perfect day out! That sounds like a perfect day out! I havent been to Abbortsfordbut I’ve spent a bit of time in Melbourne, Sydney is getting there but it’s not quite the same. Lucky Ducky
