As we strolled through Paris, I spotted Space Invader artworks scattered throughout the city. These mosaics resembles the pixelated Space Invaders 1978 video game. They’re the work of Invader, a French artist who began creating these mosaics in the 1990s, drawing inspiration from his love for the classic game. Since then, he continued to create and install these artworks in different countries around the world. Ever spotted one of these?
These Space Invaders characters I saw in Camden, London.
I’m not sure who started this ‘Lego-like’ ‘Brick’ art on the walls, but I also saw these in Paris. Some were small and hardly noticeable.
I also spotted these in Bristol, though they were slightly larger than the ones we saw in Paris.
*** learned from a co-blogger, Scooj, that these ones in Bristol are by a local artist called Angus.
Oh, thanks for that! I’ve seen this ‘brick’ art before and hadn’t a clue what it was about.
Space invaders bring back memories.
Great catch!
I always look up and down and all around when I am on holidays. Haha
Space invaders: doa li doa li (noise they make)
Oh is that it? Haha Thanks Rebecca.
The ones in Bristol are by a local artist called Angus. I don’t think that Space Invader has ever been to Bristol, which is a pity.
Thanks for that, i edited my post now!
