TRAVEL DIARY: LIVERPOOL
There are places I’ll remember
All my life, though some have changed.
Some forever, not for better;
Some have gone and some remain.– the Beatles
Even if you’re unaware, you’ll unmistakably sense when you’ve arrived in Liverpool—where everything transforms into a celebration of the Beatles.
But first was dinner. We decided to go to Jollibee, a burger fast food chain originally from the Philippines. I really wanted to taste the crispy but very sweet Peach Mango Pie. Yummm
As night falls, Liverpool comes alive with vibrant entertainment and nightlife. It was such fun, although it wasn’t from my time, it was a great feast for the eyes and a great stroll around town.
We passed by the iconic Cavern Club where the Beatles once performed. We then explored the trendy bars and clubs in the district. What I noticed was that everywhere we walked, there was music playing and jamming… what a happy place.
Mathew Street was where I saw a kaleidoscope of colourful projections all related to the awesome foursome.
Doors all relating to Beatle mania.
And in one of the corners in Cavern Quarter is this venue opened in 2021. It is called Revolver based on the seventh studio album by the English rock band which was released on 5 August 1966.
The next morning…
Breakfast was included with our accommodation and we started early so we can have more time to explore.
And as we started our stroll that morning, rain was pouring. But that didn’t deter us from going to the Beatles sculpture. Well, actually there really was no other choice since we were leaving later that day.
We passed by these closed doors.
And seats which were great to sit on if it wasn’t wet or if it wasn’t locked 🤣🤣
Excited to reach the larger than life size figures of The Beatles, in their hometown of Liverpool. The Statues were donated by the Cavern Club and it arrived on Liverpool’s Waterfront in December 2015.
Won’t you be tempted to do some poses with the Fab 4? Haha I am just half the size of the statues.
We wandered along with the view of the picturesque Mersey River. More public art by the waterfront.
Three sculptures in front of the Museum of Liverpool are a part of the Lambanana trail.
Some evidence of Liverpool’s rich history
And more doors on our way back. By this time we were already hurrying to get back to the hotel in time for our check out as Tim was already there waiting for us.
After leaving everything Beatles inspired, we proceeded to the Liverpool Cathedral.
The interior was massive and very impressive.
TRIVIA: Liverpool Cathedral holds several additional records besides its size. It features the largest Gothic arches ever constructed, houses the world’s largest working church organ, and possesses the world’s heaviest and highest ringing peal of bells.
Our road trip to Liverpool was a magical adventure through the Beatles’ legacy, picturesque waterfront views, and the awe-inspiring grandeur of the cathedral. It was a journey that created memories that will resonate with us forever.
Lovely photos Techie. I am a Beatles fan.🥰
Thanks That’s nice Arlene. So happy then to share this with a Beatles fan.
Thanks for the tour, obladi oblada…
Haha It us my pleasure to share, Rebecca
It’s another era, Teresa, and all of my youth. You’ve captured it well. I especially like those patterns on Mathew Street, and you posing with the Beatles. It is a lively, happy place and good to go back. Thanks, darlin!
Yes, I really enjoyed our short visit. It is my sister’s time so I am all too familiar with them and love them too.
You certainly covered a lot of ground on your trip to the UK. Although I have been to Liverpool a couple of times, I didn’t do much exploring. The doors and other photographs are wonderful.
Well I didn’t do much too. We were there for just a short time. My phone just kept on snapping. Thanks for your comment, scooj!
I love exploring Liverpool. But even though I’me very much Beatles Era myself, I wish they wouldn’t refer EVERYTHING back to the Fabulous Four. There’s so much more to this city! As you too discovered.
Yes, it’s not just the Beatles for sure. Thanks Margaret for your comment
What a fantastic visit, Teresa. I love the Beatles, and I’m sure I would enjoy all the tributes, but that cathedral is what grabbed my attention here. I’ve never heard of it, or its impressive record holding details. The photos are wonderful, especially the interior. Thanks so much for sharing these images with us.
Glad that you liked my share of the Cathedral. It was my son who planned for this roadtrip, so am very thankful to him. Very impressive indeed!
A fascinating tour of Liverpool! Makes me want to check it out.
Thanks a lot ❤️

That sounds wonderful! I am just starting to get into music by the Beatles since my youngest son likes a lot of their songs and plays them when we’re in the car together.
Their songs have catchy tunes. I like them as well.
Amazing photos, Teresa. What a wonderful place to visit. I do love the Beetles!
Thanks Brenda , it was definitely an amazing road trip.
Teresa, what a lovely tour. I love the statues walking in the rain. From the music to walking among the public art and the lovely cathedral, what a great tour you took us on. 🙂 xxx
