…because every picture tells a story…
Can you remember that time that you were like a kid….getting so excited in doing something that you’ve never done before.. screaming like there’s no tomorrow… laughing so hard that it brought tears to your eyes…
This week, Ann-Christine’s challenge is to post one photo and one story. So here is my story and this is my family in the Philippines when we went on an adventurous trip to Laoag, Ilocos Norte in 2016.
Ilocos Norte is in the upper part of the Philippines and is known for its white-sand beaches. but nowadays it is also a place where you can find the best sand dunes in the Philippines. I was almost 60 years old and my sister was almost 70 when we tried this experience, so we were apprehensive at the start.
We went on a 4×4 vehicle and we were all standing when we went riding down the sandy cliffs like you would ride the ocean’s waves! And as we were moving roughly our bodies were hitting each other but we didn’t seem to mind as we laughed and screamed the entire way. But WOW, this was one thrilling adventure I will never forget.
oops sorry… can’t resist to put more photos from that day.
Awwww, that’s an awesome picture, and a great story Teresa! ❤
Haven’t seen them in about 5 years…missing them. Thanks for taking the time to visit, Lisa!
Laoag? Last time I was there was 31 years ago! Memories…
Wow, that was a long time ago. Maybe it is time to revisit! Thanks for stopping by.
True! I was just 17 at that time. hahaha! Didn’t even realized it was that long until your pic. But I won’t be able to go back there on a whim because I’m a person with disability now and I can’t walk without a cane, can’t even stand for more than 5 minutes without hurting. Had an accident 4 years ago which left me with a broken hip. But I still wish to travel. 🙂
Sorry to hear about that. But I guess as I always tell my husband…these are memories that can last a lifetime. I have a problem with my knee as well so I am happy that I was able to do things that I am not able to do now. Take care and be safe.
Regards, Teresa
Thanks. I’m still hoping and praying that I’d be able to walk again on my own and the pain be gone. I’m raring to go back how it was before the accident! Thank you and be safe!
❤️

Wow, Teresa, you mention your age and looking at the photos of you it doesn’t compute! 😮 I thought we were much closer in age. Not that it matters, of course, just some silly numbers together… You’ll always be young at heart and mind. Glad to see your happy day!
My comment didn’t appear. Anyway, I will just repeat what I said… Age is just a number but it’s the aching bones and joints that matter. And since 5 years has passed when those photos were taken…I have now accepted being grey.
Hay a good day Manja!
Ha! I have accepted being grey several years ago already. 😉 And my feet ache already too. :p We just do what we can as long as we can, all of us. I’m glad that you’re here!
🤩
Happy Days! I remember days like those too, when the world was young and everything was possible.
Not too young really, just 5 years ago. But it seems such a long while away because of this pandemic. Thanks for stopping by Maris.
