”Still round the corner, there may wait, a new road or a secret gate.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
According to Wikipedia, Trompe-l’œil is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.
I have posted this previously (see here the complete post in Squares Perspective) and I am posting it again as part of Becky’s PastSquares and for Dan’s Thursday Doors

Those are really interesting, Teresa. They scenes do appear to be in 3D and are a little surreal. I love the color and there’s a little feeling of motion in the bottom one. I like the featured cafe scene the best. It looks like a nice place to relax. Thanks for sharing with Thursday Doors.
Glad that you liked them. It is a wonderful feeling to see these kinds of artworks.
Pretty colors!
Pretty aren’t they?
what stunning street art
Thanks Becky ❤️
What clever and colourful pieces! I’m glad you shared them again as I hadn’t seen them previously 🙂
Thanks Sarah….happy to share.
Love the bright colours in the first two pix, very cheery on a day of grey skies which are threatening rain.
Hoping for sunny days for you. Yes Maris, such vibrant colours aren’t they?
Reblogged this on Küçük Bir Mola Yolculuğa and commented:
Harika fotoğraflar gerçekten çok beğendim.
Thanks for reblogging…greatly appreciated!
👍👏
These are lovely Teresa 🙂
Thanks so much!
I have always been fascinated by trompe-l’œil – in part because I adore street art of all sorts, in part because of the unusual perspectives offered. You collection is wonderful! My favourite is the alley with musicians playing, and the little dog listening aptly.
Thanks for the visit and for liking my images, Ju-Lyn. I definitely like that mural in one of the alleyways.
Beautiful selections! Love the second one especially.
Thanks Amy. I like that one too…it’s like you’re going to an unknown dimension.
So cool
And artists who can do these Trompe-l’œil paintings are so talented
That is so true 👍🏼
😊🧡
I love this post, and the deceptions of the ‘not doors’
Thanks 👍🏼
