Start of the Day

This was a usual day. We woke up at 6:30, breakfast at 7:15 then placed our luggage in front of our room door. We were talking to the other people from our tour when all of a sudden there was commotion. 2 boys from our tour group plus the driver of our bus went running after a man on a suit until he suddenly got into a car. We didn’t know what happened then until we found out that the whole bag of Truus, our Tour Director, was taken by that man wearing a suit. All the tour papers and everything. So to make a long story short… we didn’t have our Tour Director for this leg of the trip.  Nevermind, we had Rocco, our driver, to explain to us some bits and pieces of the things we should know about the Rhinelands.

On the Road to Rhineland

Opposite where the boat was docked were some beautifully coloured restaurants and hotels.

On board the pleasant 1.5 hour boat cruise… With wine on one hand and a camera on the other.

We enjoyed the splendour of the long line of colorful houses on the banks of the Rhine. It felt so wonderful especially with wind blowing on your hair and the sun touching your skin.

On the road again for a short ride to Heidelberg

In the centre of Heidelberg, the university town of Germany, we saw these charming houses and restaurants. There were so many German restaurants but their menus were in German, so we didn’t want to waste time thinking of what to order and we want to get on seeing the places of interest, since we are not staying here for long. So guess what we ordered? Char Kway Teow, a favourite Malaysian dish. My kids were laughing at us “Mum why did you do that? haha”

We didn’t stay long here…but we can’t help but fall in love with this German town. From left to right:
