Windows of St Augustine Church

“Love unlocks doors and opens windows that weren’t there before.” – unknown

Monday Windows

This church is called the St Augustine Church and it can be found in Bantay, Ilocos Sur in the Philippines. It was built in 1691-1692, completed in 1710 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site considered to be one of the best Baroque Churches.

The interior is grandiose, with high ceiling and beams that are highly symmetrical.

Above the main altar you can see two stained glass windows with designs more appreciated when the sun begins to shine.

On top of a hill is the belfry of the Bantay Church which has arched windows all around. The Bantay Tower was built in 1591-1592 as the belfry of the church as well as a watch tower of the town.
