Tower of Remembrance

I am posting this for Whatsoever is Lovely Challenge. I thought I would follow the lead of Johnbo and Jez on their Cellpic Sunday posts.

The Tower of Remembrance is the central feature of Kangaroo Ground War Memorial Park which is located in Eltham, Victoria. It is a striking 12-meter structure that was unveiled in 1926. This memorial, honouring local soldiers, is crafted from brick, basalt, and concrete, with a facade made from locally sourced rock.

Beside the tower is this memorial platform offering sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and city skyline.

“A place of reverence and a Tower of Strength.”

It is truly lovely to have a memorial that honours those who came before us, serving their country with dedication and making profound sacrifices for the greater good.

A sad day to remember. If only there was an end to wars.

It looks a peaceful place. The roof design of the platform is very interesting. It looks like wings.

Yes, very modern design. It just was very peaceful to stand there and see the view of the skyline.
