Resilience reminds us that, no matter how hard life gets, we have the strength to navigate, adapt, and thrive.
RESILIENCE, an amazing theme from Anne for Lens Artist Photo Challenge. The first thing that I thought of when I read the prompt was my homeland, the Philippines.
Filipinos endure life’s hardships with quiet strength, doing everything they can to keep going. Day after day, through life’s storms, they carry on, often with smiles on their faces, showing resilience in the face of it all.
Resilience is the ability to face challenges, adapt, and keep moving forward, even when the path is hard.

Resilience doesn’t mean avoiding difficulties, it’s about bouncing back after setbacks, stronger and more determined.

Each new dawn reminds us that endings are never final and that every day holds the promise of a fresh start.

Believing that things can and will improve gives us the hope to endure hardships and seek solutions to whatever problems we may encounter.

Just like trees that bend in the wind but don’t break, resilience is about flexibility and endurance.

Sunset shows us that even as the day fades, there’s hope for new beginnings as long as we stay strong.

Photos taken from my trips to the Philippines in 2016 and 2023

Great post, Teresa.
Yes, this is a resilient people, having gone through so much in its history. It’s an ongoing story to keep this perspective in the midst of continuing challenges, and your photos and narrative capture it beautifully.
Thanks Nes, resilient people, then up to now.
Such an excellent response to this challenge Teresa! I can tell how much you feel (and share) the resilience of your country’s people 🤗 And it makes me excited for our own visit to the Philippines next month!
Wow are you, really? That is great! Whereabouts are you planning to go? February is the best time to go… not too warm and not too expensive!
Fantastic post, Teresa in your feelings and in the photos you shared with us.
Thanks Sofia.
A great idea to focus your multi-faceted look at Resilience simply on one country. Filipinos clearly are well-practised at Resilience!
Yes, Margaret, I know it too well. Thanks for the comment.
A heartfelt post, Teresa, but I can’t help wondering how the people whose homes in California have been wiped out by fire are supposed to find resilience. I don’t think I could.
It is a community thing. No doubt they will rise through it if all of us work together.
Great photos, great commentary. Well done.
Thanks John, so nice to hear.
These photos tell a great story, Teresa!
Thanks a lot Lisa.
Wonderful post, Teresa! Tells us much of love and resilience. And how you feel about your native country.
Thanks A-C glad I was able to show that.
