I still remember the first time I saw a red phone booth on my first trip to London back in 2016 — it was love at first sight! There’s just something about them that feels so iconic and charming.

Ever since then, I’ve been a little obsessed. Every time I spot a red phone booth and its doors, no matter where I am, I just have to stop and admire it (and usually take a photo too!).

These days, they’re likely to be transformed into Free Libraries, or (unfortunately) pee stops.
The first option is great but second one is a bit %%#><***
😒
They’re so cheerful, aren’t they, but I do hear what Margaret is saying xx
Yup, not good for the sense of smell.
I love these, especially the one with the conical roof 😊
Thanks Eunice. I think that one is from New Zealand.
I love those phone booths. I was fortunate to find one that had been converted to a WiFi hotspot when I visited London (and managed to get myself well lost).
Getting lost is inevitable but sometimes can be fun. It is a good memory of the red Phonebooth for you.
I don’t blame you for wanting to find the red phone booths Teresa. I like them as well
Yay same!
As Londoners we always smile when we see tourists sometimes even queuing for a chance to photograph themselves in front of an often scruffy, unloved and sometimes abused (see Margaret’s comment) telephone box!
Well do you mean annoyed? 😂😂😂 maybe I am one of them tourists that you saw.
No not at all annoyed – why would we be? It’s just that they’re so ordinary to us and so photo-worthy to you!
I asked that because tourists can be annoying at times. I know that because my son tells me off. Haha
Gotta love those red phone booths. I hope they never disappear. 😊
I second that. Thanks Pepper!
There are still a few of them about the country, but nothing like the number when I was growing up – they seemed to be on every street.
So do you know where all the others went? Did they just trash it?
Mostly trashed. Some purchased by individuals and businesses for nostalgic reasons I guess.
I love the red British phone booths too! Thanks for these great photos.
I am glad that it’s just not me. Thanks Rebecca.
these are great – I have one down the road from me 🙂
Thanks Becky, I get excited when I see them.
Your second, octagonal shaped phone booth is terrific! I’ve never seen one shaped like this.
It is uniquely shaped isn’t it. Thanks Denny.
