This week, SH is our Guest Host for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, and the theme is “Quiet Hours”
It’s a gentle reminder to pause and notice the stillness—whether it’s a quiet sunrise by the sea, an early walk through empty streets, or a mountain view that leaves you breathless. These are the moments that ground us, even if just for a while.
In the quiet hours of sunrise in Vigan, Philippines, the world feels still. A lone fisherman casts his net into the calm sea. The golden light gently wakes the horizon, and for a moment, time stands still—just the sea, the sky, and a man at peace with both.

Before the city stirs, Prague belongs to the early walkers. Empty streets echo gently underfoot, and there’s magic in being the first to greet the day.

As the sun begins to dip behind spires and red rooftops, Prague slows down. It’s the kind of quiet that doesn’t ask for silence… it simply invites it.

In the South Island of New Zealand, quiet isn’t a time—it’s a way of being. Whether it’s sunrise over a lake or midday in a wide valley, or twilight skies over the lake, the hush is constant, like the land is always listening.

Lovely photos of the quiet solitude Teresa 😀

Thanks so much, Tina.
Beautiful tranquil photos of those quiet times of day, and I love what you said about the South Island: ‘quiet isn’t a time—it’s a way of being’
Thanks Sarah. Things are truly natural in New Zealand, my newest favourite place.

Great photos. Kudos on being an early riser in Prague. That’s an accomplishment!!
Yes truly an accomplishment. If you know me that is not what I often do.
What a beautiful gallery, Teresa. The lighting and peace are so vivid in those photos.
