“The darkest night is often the bridge to the brightest tomorrow.” – Jonathan Lockwood Huie
I can think of so many iconic bridges to feature for today’s challenge but this particular one stuck to my mind because of fun memories with family. (I have featured this bridge previously but not in Black and white.)
This is the rustic Fairfield Pipe Bridge that crosses over the The Yarra River in Victoria. It is an Overhead bridge that people use as a bike path or to do their daily exercise or maybe even to watch the people kayaking or boating.
The Fairfield Pipe Bridge is located just south of the Fairfield Boat House. It was built in 1878 to carry water from the Yan Yean Reservoir to Kew. This bridge was washed away in the floods of 1934 and a new pipe bridge was built close to the site of the original bridge.
Here are some shots from the top, through it and from under the bridge. CBWC – Pipe Bridge
very charming!
Thanks Wi!
These are lovely photos Teresa, love the colour vs BW 😊. The first is my favorite.
Oh thanks so much Majka…glad you liked it.
Nice study of this bridge.
Thanks Rudi!
This is still on my list, last time I was in Melbourne it was planned then I ended up with such a bad cold had to abandon it!
Colds and covid don’t go hand in hand haha. Hopefully you can go next time.
For sure
Your bridges are lovely, Teresa. I like how you did a collage effect on you image compare posts. How did you do that?
Thanks for liking it Marsha. I just used a PicCollage App…just an amateur approach haha
I’ve never tried it, but I like the look. 🙂
I usually use it for photos of family and kids for birthday greetings or something.
Nice.
Yea Teresa. In other words, It is during our darkest night that we ought to focus to see the light.. I got that. Lovely photos
