“Photographs with people in them are like scale models—showing just how grand or tiny our lives can be in the grand scheme of things.” – Unknown
Sofia of Photographias is hosting the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge this week, focusing on Sense of Scale.
Some objects are difficult to gauge in size just by viewing them in isolation. To truly understand their dimensions, a point of reference is often needed. For instance, in the following images, the presence of people or a person next to the object provides a clear sense of scale.
This comparative approach helps us understand the true size of the object more accurately.
Next, let’s lighten things up and dive into some fun shots that play with scale and perspective. Join me on this playful journey!
A fun and well illustrated post for the challenge.
Thanks a lot Margaret. I had fun looking for photos in my archive for this challenge.
What a great post; loved all the shots 🤩
Thanks so much Jez. Greatly appreciate your comment.
I’m so glad you showed us the fun side of this theme. I wish I had some photos like them but I think I’m too serious with my photography, sometimes 😀
Big smile on my face!
Well, that’s just me during my travels! But in saying that, this is a serious and great challenge. I was just lucky to find some of these fun ones, some of them my husband took asking me to pose this way and that haha.
A great theme well illustrated. Thank you.
Thanks Scooj, love your comment.
Beautifully presented!
Thank you!
You are welcome, Teresa.
Made me smile! Great photos
I am glad you liked them.
Always fun, Teresa. I’m feeling very small today 🤗🩷
Thanks Jo. I am always feeling small, except in the Philippines haha
What fun photos you’ve found for this theme! The giant chair is particularly perfect for it 🙂
Thanks Sarah, sometimes it’s worth to have fun photos in your travels especially on times like this.
These are really terrific Teresa. The spider is my favorite. I’ve seen many photos of the Beatles’ statue but this is the first time I’ve realized it’s larger than life. I sincerely hope readers click on your small square images because they’re wonderful! The guy in the hat by the wall art is fabulous!!
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Tina! Thanks also for clicking the photos to enlarge it, much appreciated. The guy in the hat is my hubby and I asked him to copy the mural even the facial expression. And the Beatles is not as huge if my husband is the one beside it … it is just me, cause I am tiny haha
Beautiful! Love the elephant!! 🙂
Thanks John. The elephant is cute, there were more there when we went
What a fun post! The spider is also my favorite.
Glad you like it. Thanks for stopping by Sheryl.
What a lovely set from around your travels!
Thanks I.J. ❤️
So much fun, Teresa!Loved your gallery – and your comment to Jo made me laugh!
Thanks A-C. Well, if you see me you will know that I am telling the truth haha
Good examples Teresa, I missed this challenge. You’ve chosen well from your archives. I thought I didn’t have any but looking through your selection I see I could have posted. Well done.
That happens to me too sometimes. And after this challenge I have seen so much more related to it in my archive. Thanks Ali.
If I could be bothered I could tag my photos for objects, always something to keep me busy
