Doors in York

on

YORK, UK

Here are the doors lining the main road of the Shambles in York, one of the city’s most renowned landmarks and among Europe’s best-preserved medieval shopping streets.

A quirky shop named “The shop that must not be named”

I always love capturing Nutcracker Christmas shop doors.

Found more doors from the Lord Mayor’s Walk to the Shambles then back.

Although there is no Thursday Doors Challenge this week, I am still going on with mine.

Yeah, I really like that witty name as well. Can’t go on without my weekly doors challenge haha

It’s called photo challenge addiction and there is no cure 😂

        1. Teresa says:

Haha true… no cure really 👍

Mine has been going for about ten years now and never seems to abate

Haha! Lots of old favourites here! Though I do wish the Shambles could have its share of ‘ordinary’ shops too.

    1. Teresa says:

Outside of the Shambles are the ‘ordinary shops’. But I guess there is a Bao shop in the Shambles. Haha

      1. margaret21 says:

Probably. Not when I was last there though.

Agreed. It would be great if it wasn’t all tourist tat and Harry Potter

      1. Teresa says:

Oh yes lots of wizards and Harry Potter stuff, I noticed.

      2. margaret21 says:

Yes. A bit of bread and cheese and (a friend’s go-to phrase when trying to decribe a useful high street) knicker elastic woudn’t go amiss.

Very nice collection, Teresa. I like the Alchemist, also the corner door. I love the featured door. Popeye was always my favorite.

    1. Teresa says:

Me too. Popeye and Olive haha. Why are you online? Have a good break, see you next week.

      1. Dan Antion says:

Actually, I was on a plane with free WiFi.

        1. Teresa says:

Wonderful doors. I was in Your last week, but don’t think I snapped any of these ones.

    1. Teresa says:

      Witty name isn’t it?

  7. restlessjo says:
