This week, the Lens-Artists group is starting a new series where we are asked to revisit past topics and explore it again. Ann-Christine invites us to share something about Creativity, a theme that she shared in 2019. I wasn’t blogging yet that time, so this is my first time joining in for this theme.
I love using watercolour for my artwork—it’s simple, portable, and doesn’t make a mess. My go-to size is A5: small, light, and just right for painting anywhere, whether I’m at a café or out exploring.

I also do pyrography, which is the art of burning designs onto wood using a heated tool. It’s a slow and careful process, but I enjoy how relaxing it is. It is also great as gifts like trinkets box, coasters or cheese boards.

My daughter Pat is a photographer and art director by profession, but she’s also recently taken up a new hobby—acrylic painting. She enjoys sketching everyday scenes and portraits of her friends. It wasn’t until she moved into her own place that she discovered how much she loves to paint.

My son Tim who is an artist and music video director by profession, also enjoys acrylic painting and ink sketches as a hobby. I’m also sharing some of his street photography shots—another creative outlet he’s truly passionate about.

Just in time for this week’s challenge, today, at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren, there was an open art session for anyone interested. It was a still life class, and Jack, Pat, and I decided to join in. We used charcoal for the session—something I haven’t used since my first year in college back in 1977!

What a creative and talented family you are – and always open to new ideas too!
Would be happy to try anything. I am also doing Origami.
Artistic family!
It started from my Dad. Thanks Nes.
I am with Margaret, creativity is a family trait. I love the water colors. Looks like a perfect size for a creative moment in a cafe….
I think my kids are so much better than us in what they do, especially in computer work. Thanks for the comment Clay.
Thanks for sharing some of work that you and your artistic family have created. Beautiful post.
