The Queen celebrated two birthdays each year: her actual birthday on 21 April and her official birthday on the second Saturday in June.
But now, for the first time, we are celebrating the King’s Birthday Long Weekend which takes place from Saturday 10th June to Monday 12th June 2023. It is a public holiday today, Monday so who cares what it is for.
Two of my good friends and I and hubby decided to go for a drive to the country town of Yarragon.
Linked to Hammad’s Weekend Sky and Jo’s Monday Walk
And as usual, first is coffee and food at the Yarragon Tearoom.
This tearoom had everything from jams, lollies, biscuits to wine.
Just a small town but enjoyed walking and feeling the different atmosphere.

Enjoyed browsing inside the Art Gallery.

Looked inside some of the store window. Linked to Ludwig’s Monday Windows
We met this man, an ex police officer named George, but is now doing some woodwork in his garage.
George pointed us towards the Trash and Treasure shop at the end of the road.
A view of some more quaint shops before heading home. didn’t even think that shops close that early… it wasn’t even 4 yet. But I guess it is a country town…
A lovely day out Teresa 🙂
A relaxing one indeed! Thanks Brian.
A little of everything, Teresa. It looks like a friendly place.
Yes I guess so. Thanks Jo.
What was a wonderful outing. Thank you for taking me along.
My pleasure Ludwig.
Looks like a fun outing with lots of things to browse and photograph Teresa. The bird murals are beautiful. Thank you for your PPAC contribution.
Thanks Natalie… a great mural for a toilet.
Looks like a great place for a fairly leisurely day out 🙂 I’m surprised you get a public holiday for the King’s Birthday, we certainly don’t get one here (nor used to for the Queen’s)!!
Well I really don’t know.. but who am I to complain haha
Love small town Australia, there’s always something quirky and quaint to find. Great how you incorporated some challenges as well, clever 🙂
Thanks Ali. That is so true about country Australia.
What a quaint town to explore!
and such deliciousness too.
There’s always an excuse to have good food!
Indeed!
