Cityscapes from Prague to London

In this week’s challenge, hosted by Patti, I will be showcasing Prague and London. While every city worldwide holds its own unique narrative, Prague and London hold a special place in my heart. Each snapshot I’ll be sharing is filled with cherished memories that resonate within me. (Well I really wanted to do Prague and Melbourne , my home city, but someone beat me to it. Jokes😂😂😂)

The city of Prague is a mesmerizing blend of history and charm. The very first time I saw this city, I fell in love at first sight. Its colourful buildings, the swans on the river and the orange foliage, since we visited in October of 2018, made it even more endearing.

The cityscapes with the Vltava River flowing gracefully.

With its iconic red-tiled roofs and towering spires…

The beautiful Astronomical Clock and the modern Dancing House…

Without a doubt, it’s the iconic Charles Bridge with the castle in the background plus the bustling atmosphere during peak hours that really made me love this city.

It is also the Cobblestone streets that wind through the Old Town, adorned with baroque buildings and archways.

At night, the cityscape is illuminated by the warm glow of streetlights, adding to the enchantment of this timeless European city.

London is dear to me in a special way, primarily because my son resides there. If only Melbourne were closer, I could visit more often.

London’s cityscape is a captivating mixture of past and present.

Gazing at London’s cityscape through the Sky Garden windows amid moody weather is enchanting.

Iconic red double-decker buses and black cabs weave through bustling streets.

London’s cityscape is a mesmerizing blend of historic landmarks.

This is a city that has long interested me, but I suspect I won’t visit it now, as I seem to have grown allergic to busy places. I’ve turned into a real Country Mouse. Your photos are very appealing.

Thanks Margaret. You just have to go very early and the crowd won’t be there yet!

Great great photos. I love Prague, and I lived in London for about 6 months circa 1990. Buildings like The Shard and The Gherkin weren’t there. I did jog along the Thames regularly, and in Hyde Park on Sundays with a running club, FWIW. Fascinating city. 👏

Glad I brought you back to those lovely memories, John.

Prague was one of my favorite cities in my travels Teresa but the dancing house either wasn’t there then or I simply missed it. Prague and London – two very different cities beautifully captured through your lens.

Thanks so much Tina, yes two very different cities but equally delightful to experience. The Dancing House was I think built in 1994.

Big cities don’t appeal to me anymore, other than maybe for a brief visit. I would like to some of the cities in Europe like Prague. Well done Teresa.

    1. Teresa says:

Definitely Prague … although it really gets busy too.
