“Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.” – Alice in Wonderland
The “New Normal” for the restaurant business in Melbourne is outdoor seating. Rutledge Lane, a street off the famous and ever busy Hosier Lane, has opened UP two new Pop UP restaurants for Covid safe dining.
Now, a new Street art is UP (I saw it being put up 2 weeks ago), with walls repainted to an Alice in Wonderland theme for both Grainshaker and Tres a Cinco Cantina. The laneway is more family friendly and I guess this area would be off limits to tagging since it is enclosed. I have to go back and try this one time.

it will be a while before we can have outdoor dining, T! it is very cold right now!
It is very hot down here…especially today! In the heat of summer alright!
Cool! Looks like such a festive and fun place to eat!
It looks like it, haven’t tried it myself ‘tho!
Very colorful, I like all the art!
Thanks for liking it, Kathleen! 😍
Great idea. Too cold here (0C).
Beautifully done, the mural.
Thanks for the comment!
Oh isn’t this fabulous. The book they’ve chosen feels very apt. This new world is so very strange, does feel like we’ve disappeared down the rabbit hole with Alice!
Nice comparison, Becky. It does feel like a different place.
Love the subjects of the murals, very cute Teresa. Those outdoor eating areas look very inviting too.
