This week Johnbo challenges us to focus on Tools of Photo Composition.
I have decided to use lighting as part of this composition. I am keeping it simple and only including elements that are relevant to the story I am telling.
So this is my story… and this is Venice at night in 2016.
At dusk, the skies are adorned with spires and domes.
Venice becomes magical and mysterious at night with its lights from restaurants and reflections on the canal.
Venetian masks are a centuries-old tradition in Venice, Italy.
Strolling Venice at night provides an entirely different view of the city.
Music and dinner at the Piazza San Marco is the best.
Think of shapes, alleyways, restaurants, colourful masks, people having fun, atmospheric street lamps in Venice at night time . . .
So atmospheric!

I was there in the summer of 2016 but never wandered about at night. It’s one of my favourite places and three days was just too short.
We didn’t stay for long too and we should’ve. We went in September of 2016 and the weather for a night stroll was perfect.
We were there in July with our 10 month old granddaughter so we didn’t go out at night.
Oh no…not good to go out in an unknown place with a baby at night.

We were never there at night, sadly. We’ve visited a couple of times but always from nearby on a daytrip. The photos are great, Teresa.
