Snowfall down Tim’s Street

“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold.” – Aristotle

I know it is nice and all but I can’t imagine myself living in a place with snow 24/7. But I just love these photos that Tim sent me when he went for a walk down his street.

Here are some photos of snowfall in London from a few days ago that I wish to share.

Though it was late at night, kids were enjoying building snowpeople. “Tim did you do that?”

But what is more surprising is … this is Climate Change for Downunder… it is snowing in the Victorian mountains when it’s just eleven days before Christmas!

Just a reminder…unlike the lot of you, it is summer here in Victoria, Australia. Melbourne is experiencing some rather unusual weather because usually during this time of the year, we are already wearing shorts and singlet. (Like this li’l cute Santa)

Tim seems to have had a lot more snow in his part of London (east?) than we got in the west, although we did get some. Most of it cleared quite quickly once people started walking or driving on it but there are still a few pockets several days later. But this is unusual for December – I certainly wouldn’t say we got snow 24/7 😀 Thank goodness – I really don’t like the stuff, however pretty, it causes such chaos!

He lives near Finsbury Park, don’t really know if that is on the east. But it really is cool to see images of it.

That’s north east – same Tube line as me but towards the opposite end

I’ve been sent lots of pretty snowy garden scenes, and blazing log fires, Teresa. I very well remember the excitement of that first snow fall but the following days can be miserable. I really don’t miss it.

Lucky for me that if I want snow I can just go to it but I rarely do anyway. I think I’ve just been three times in my lifetime. Yes, I remember that first time excited-ness feeling too.

I’m in shorts and T-shirts most days but the nights are quite chilly 🙂

Are you? There are days too in between that I feel warm but more days it is cold. We sometimes put the heater on in here!

I’m with you Teresa, it’s nice to look at but I prefer the sun. Laurence said it’s freezing Melbourne, come to Perth 🙂

    1. Teresa says:

I know. I haven’t been to Perth but it seems that it’s very hot in there. Maybe temps will change here soon enough. Have a great Christmas, Ali!

        You too Teresa 🙂
