Market Walk

My husband and I love exploring local markets, but this Saturday, we decided to try something different. Jack, Patricia, and I headed to St. Andrew’s Market, nestled among the gum trees in the Yarra Valley. It’s Victoria’s oldest and most unique market, offering a delightful mix of local produce and artisan goods.

I love admiring all the vibrant flowers and the charming animal-themed items.

For over 40 years, St. Andrew’s Market has been a cherished part of the local community, known for its lively and natural ambiance.

The food was absolutely glorious, making it hard to decide what to choose!

In the end, Jack opted for a samosa, while Patricia and I both chose birria tacos. They were surprisingly delicious, though a bit messy to eat!

The market features a delightful mix of music, including country tunes and the enchanting sound of the Indigenous didgeridoo, creating a wonderful atmosphere among the gum trees.

After that, we took a leisurely walk among the lush grass, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and enjoying the fresh air.

Then I noticed a bench tucked away behind one of the buildings. It features a beautiful mosaic dedicated to the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009, serving as a poignant tribute to that significant event.

After that, we wandered onto the nearby streets to explore the local shops. One shop particularly caught my eye, featuring stunning pyrographic art—an area I’m currently studying. I enjoyed listening to the shop owner’s captivating stories about her creations and the techniques behind her work.

I was thrilled to see this incredible Silo Art by @Ashalacreations. Rebekah Sammi Clarke’s water tank mural inspires us to embrace life to the fullest with the message, “Life is what you make it—so make it beautiful!”

Now it’s time to relax with some coffee and pastries as we enjoy sitting on the benches.

It was a delight to see all these doors, ranging from a charming side door and a pantry door to an abandoned double door and a vibrant circus-themed plastic door.

Then it was time to leave, but not before catching a glimpse of even more unique treasures in St. Andrews. Just priceless!

That chair looks great. But it was just in the back area and it seems neglected. It is a tribute well meant. Thanks for commenting
